Excel Construction completed this house extension and refurbishment in Tooting, combining additional living space with a German-made Häcker kitchen, quartz worktops and Amtico herringbone flooring.
The project brought together new construction, refurbishment of the existing kitchen and living area, and improvements to heating, lighting and ventilation, alongside a new downstairs cloakroom.

Bringing the extension and existing home together
An extension needs to work with the rooms around it. At Massingberd Way, our scope included both the new extension and refurbishment of the existing kitchen and living area.
Delivering these works as one project allowed us to coordinate the construction, kitchen installation and changes to the building services. The finished space connects the kitchen and living area with views towards the garden.
A Häcker kitchen with carefully selected finishes
A German-made Häcker kitchen sits at the heart of the home, paired with quartz worktops and Amtico herringbone flooring. The central island provides a practical focal point for preparing food and spending time together.
The combination of cabinetry, worktops and flooring gives the space a cohesive finish, with an emphasis on quality and everyday use.
Integrated extraction and garden access
The hob incorporates extraction ducted to the outside, allowing cooking fumes to discharge outdoors while keeping the space above the hob clear of an overhead extractor.
High-efficiency bifolding doors provide access to the garden and bring natural light into the kitchen and living space.
Updated heating and smart lighting
We repositioned the boiler as part of the revised layout and installed a smart thermostat to give the homeowners greater control over their heating.
Smart lighting provides flexible lighting control within the refurbished space, supporting its use throughout the day and into the evening.
A new downstairs cloakroom
The works also included a new downstairs cloakroom, adding a practical facility for the household and visiting guests.
Together, the extension, internal refurbishment and updated installations provide additional usable space with carefully considered finishes and controls.
